HIghway Ride Chennai to Ambur NH 46

Nishanth School vacation started from 23-04-2015, so planned for a day's trip.
After going through various options finalised a trip to Ambur.
Plan was to start 6 am in the morning, as usual slept and started by 7 am from home.
took the mudichur manimangalam road to touch Sriperumbuthur, the junction with NH 4 is crowded and to clear this junction took a lot of time.

First halt was to be at Thiruputkuzhi Vijayaraghavaswamy temple, but the landmark was missed and we stopped at the Varagaeswarar temple at Damal

There was no crowd we were the only persons at the temple at that time had a good darshan and continued the Journey, it was breakfast time and stopped at the famous Murugan idly kadai, this place has got good parking facilities, neat washroom and good quality food

Here too had a good darshan temple was not crowded then we headed to Vellore Jalakanteswarar temple at the Vellore Fort

Then we continued to our journey towards Virinjipuram, NH 46 all the underpass and service roads do not carry any sign boards to inform the users where the road is diverting to, we had to ask many person for the turn to be taken towards Virinjipuram

After having a darshan at the temple proceeded towards Pallikonda perumal temple.
Again here too there are no direction boards on the NH 46 to identify the diversion to be taken, took the service road underpass to Pallikonda and visited the temple

Then we proceeded to have food at the famous Hotel Akka on the Chennai Bangalore Highway, but the food was not ready, they told it will take another 30 minutes. so went to Ambur had food and purchased leather bag and purses at the Ambur Leather shop. Started to Home from Ambur by 1.30 Pm, till Kanchipuram the roads were mostly free, afterwards too many sand trucks and the road is also having uneven surface at many locations.Reached home by 4.15 pm
Toll Chennasamudram 65 rs
Toll Pallikonda 115 rs both return ticket
Total Km run 355
